Imam Siraj Wahhaj

Imam Siraj Wahhaj, currently the Imam of Masjid Al-Taqwa in Brookyn, New York, accepted Islam in 1969. He received Imam training at Ummul Qura University of Makkah in 1978 and has gone on to become a national and international speaker on Islam. Imam Wahhaj has been Vice President of ISNA U.S. since 1997 and has served on Majlis Ash-Shura since 1987. He is a past member of ISNA’s Planning Committee and has served as a member of theBoard of Advisors for NAIT from 1989-1993. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the American Muslim Council. Imam Wahhaj has appeared on several national television talk shows and interviews especially about his anti-drug campaigns. He received high praises from the media and NYPD for initiating anti-drug patrol in Brooklyn, New York in 1988. Among other achievements, Imam Wahhaj was the first person to give an Islamic invocation to the United States Congress. Imam Siraj Wahhaj is originally from New York.

Imam Abdulmalik

Imam Abdulmalik graduated from the University of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.  He went on to graduate from the State University of New York in Binghamton and studied in the Classical Arabic Studies Department.  He is the founder and originator of Islam on Capitol Hill and delivered the Jumaa khutba on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. to over ten thousand Muslims.   He delivered the Jumaa khutba at the United Nations for more than five years speaking to the heads of state and the international staff for more than fifty countries.   After 9-11 he was part of the clergy who assisted the New York City police department providing counseling and spiritual guidance to those who lost family members. Imam Abdulmalik has spoken in various interfaith dialogues in churches, synagogues, and mosques throughout the nation.  He has been a previous guest speaker for ISNA and ICNA events.  Imam Abdulmalik has lectured at the University of Chicago, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, New York Law School, Long Island University, and many other higher education institutions throughout the United States and Canada.

Dr. Altaf Husain

Dr. Altaf Husain holds a doctoral degree from the Howard University School of Social Work in Washington D.C. His research interests include the integration of immigrant and refugee families, and especially Muslim adolescents, in the United States. He serves as Executive Assistant for Academic Affairs in the Office of the Provost at Howard University and is a double alumnus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Altaf is a former two-term national president of the Muslim Students Association, a current executive committee member of the Muslim Alliance in North America, and a board member of the Peaceful Families Project. He is married and has two sons.

Tariq Monowar

Mowlana Tariq Monowar is an internally renowned Islamic Lecturer. He has his own show on Islam in ATN Bangla, a satellite television station based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was an Imam/Khateeb of East London Mosque, the largest Masjid in London.

At a very young age, Tariq Monowar became famous for beautifully presenting Islamic Nasheeds. Many of his Nasheeds albums became instant best sellers in Bangladesh. For many years he is traveling around the world to explain Islam to people of all age.

Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari

Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari is an educationalist, community activist, author, commentator and parenting consultant. He gained his PhD in Physics in 1986 and PGCE in 1991 from King’s College London. He was conferred an MBE in 2003, made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2005, an Honorary Fellow of Queen Mary University of London in 2008 and an Honorary Doctorate of Education from University of East London in 2012.

Abdul Bari was former Secretary General of Muslim Council of Britain and Chairman of East London Mosque. He was a board member of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), known as London 2012. 

A father of four children, Abdul Bari is now a retired Specialist teacher (in Behaviour Support).

Mufti Farhan

Mufti Mohammad Farhan, PhD. was raised in Long Island, New York.  He completed a bachelor's degree in Arabic and Islamic Sciences, specializing in hadith studies. He completed an M.A. in Islamic Theology from Pakistan. He also accomplished a PhD in Islamic Jurisprudence and Law..He is also specialized in Islamic Economics and Finance. Currently, he is the Director of Islamic Affairs for Muslims on Long Island, Inc. and the Islamic Center of South Shore, Valley Stream, Long Island. He is also the member of The Board of Jurists, Shariah Board of New York. Member, Zabahia Halal Monitoring Committee,

Suzy Ismail

Suzy Ismail is the Founder, Director and Head Communication Counselor at Cornerstone Counseling, a faith based relational communication counseling center. She is also a Visiting Professor of Communication at DeVry University and a high school teacher. She is the author of several books including "Modern Muslim Marriage," "9 to 5: Muslims in the Western Workplace," "When Muslim Marriage Fails," and other works. She specializes in presenting a range of communication lectures and diversity workshops at major corporations , conferences and universities and frequently appears on numerous media outlets such as Fox News, BBC, PTV, and on national and international radio and television broadcasts regarding the subject of her work.

Suzy provides youth, marriage, women empowerment, gender relations, identity, and family seminars across the US and Canada. She currently serves as an executive officer and director on several non-profit boards, commissions, and organizations. She received her Bachelor's in English, Communication and Middle Eastern Studies, her Master's in Communication and Information Studies, and attended the School of Communication as a doctoral student in the field of Organizational Communication. She is currently working on her Ph.D. in Human Services with a focus on Marriage and Family Intervention and has previously studied Quran and Islamic Sciences in Egypt and with local scholars. She resides in Princeton, New Jersey with her husband and three children.

Dr. Md Abdus Salam Azadi

Dr. Azadi is fortunate to have combined three key qualifications in different countries: General and Religious Studies in Bangladesh, Modern and Classical Arabic language and literature with Islamic Studies in Medina, Saudi Arabia, Modern Applied Linguistics (Teaching Arabic as a second language ) in Malaysia, and finally, Islamic movements and Islamic Political thoughts in the 20th century in the UK.

Mazen Mokhtar

Mazen Mokhtar the National Executive Director of the Muslim American Society (MAS) and is a member of the New Jersey Chapter. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Mokhtar holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University and currently owns and runs a New Jersey based Computer Consulting business. He is a lecturer at the Institute of Islamic Studies in East Windsor, NJ and many other local Mosques. Mazen holds regular classes in topics such as the exegesis of the Quran, seerah and activism and has a personal interest in the field of Islamic activism and youth development.

Imam Hernandez

Imam Hernandez is the Imam of the Pearland Islamic and Center and the National Spokesperson for Islam In Spanish.

Born in New York of Puerto Rican parents  and he accepted Islam 1999 after spending 9 months reading the Quran. His Mother a former Nun accepted Islam alongside his father in 2002. Imam Hernandez was blessed with embarking on a Journey to learn Arabic and Islam in Al Azhar University in Egypt.

Majed Mahmoud

"Majed was born in Saudi Arabia where he studied the basics of Islamic sciences for 9 years as part of the Saudi school curriculum. He then immigrated to Canada during high school, and earned a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor. Majed went on to obtain a Masters in Business Administration from Wayne State University. During this period, he finished his memorization of the Quran. In his pursuit for Islamic studies, he has taken over 50 courses with AlMaghrib, Bayyinah and other institutions, including topics in theology, Islamic jurisprudence, and Quranic sciences. Majed has traveled around the world lecturing about different aspects of Islam and recently completed a TV series with Huda TV & Peace TV. He is currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Islamic Jurisprudence & Legal Theory from Al-Madinah International University while working as a Mechanical Engineer."

Dr. Muhammad Ruhul Amin

Professor Dr. Muhammad Ruhul Amin was a professor of Department of Al-Hadith & Islamic Studies Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh. He was the director of Student Affairs Division of Islamic University. He earned his Ph.D.(Shari’ah & Islamic Studies), M. Phil., Master of Theology and Islamic Studies(MTIS) in Al-Quran & Sunnah . He is currently the Khatib & Imam of the Masjid Al-Hera, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA and the Principal of Al-Hera Islamic Education Center, New Jersey, USA.

AMAN ALI

Aman Ali is an award winning storyteller in New York City and one of the most popular social media personalities in the Muslim community today. His passionate and animated tales he regularly posts to Facebook continue to go viral by thethousands daily.

He is also one of the only young American Muslims in the public spotlight today. He's made appearances on dozens of media outlets such as the New York Times, CNN, HBO, BBC, and NPR to talk about the shenanigans of being born and raised in central Ohio.

He is recognized for being the co-creator of the social media phenomenon 30 Mosques in 30 Days, a 25,000 mile road trip he took to all 50 states in the U.S. with the mission of telling groundbreaking and profound stories about Muslims in America.

Cyrus McGoldrick

Cyrus McGoldrick is an American-born Muslim of Iranian and Irish descent, student, artist and community advocate. He graduated from Columbia University in 2011 and is pursuing a M.A. in Civilization Studies from Sultan Fatih Mehmet Vaqif University in Istanbul. His first book of poetry, I of the Garden, was published in 2014. In 2015 he co-founded the Islamic Movement for Justice.

Ibrahim Heshaam

Born Feb 3, 1984, Ibrahim Muhammad Heshaam Jaaber is a third-generation American-born Muslim, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and the founder and president of Color Me Muslim, an identity-based organization that focuses on the advancement of Muslim youth. As a young man, Ibrahim was blessed by Allah with the opportunity to play professional basketball internationally in the best league in Europe for nearly 6 years, but his talent does not end there. Ibrahim has also been writing and performing poetry for over 10 years, using the art of spoken word as a platform to reach out to the Muslim youth and relay the message of Islam to anyone willing to listen.

Sharif Faizullah

Sharif Faizullah is the author of an upcoming book: “How To Be The Coolest Husband.”

Why is he writing this book?  In his own words: “I was put on this earth not only to love and cherish my wife—the queen of my heart and the love of my life—but also to inspire millions of young husbands of our generations to do the same.”  The farthest place where he spoke on the topic of “How To Be The Coolest Husband” was in Tokyo, Japan.
Three years before his own marriage, he co-founded Practimate, a pre-marital training company for single Muslims in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Australia. With Shaykh Yaser Birjas, he also wrote and produced "Finding Your Other Half," a DVD training program for Muslim singles.
Sharif Faizullah grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Currently, he’s the President of Golden Key Real Estate Investment Club based in Midtown Manhattan. He's also the director of education and training at Parkchester Islamic Center in the Bronx.
Sushi is still one of his favorite food and he wants to treat you to Häagen-Dazs ice cream if you can beat him in a good game of ping-pong.
